3D Printed Metals & Alloys Are Here!

Following on from our experience using 3D printed plastics, we have now started integrating 3D printed metal parts into our air braking and air conditioning kits. With a variety of different metals available, the most commonly used are going to be stainless steel and aluminium parts such as the aluminium manifolds in the above photo.

For small production runs and one-off jobs, this gives us huge flexibility to make parts exactly as we would like with no unnessary costs, no modifications required and no limitations of what can be done with a lathe or milling machine.

As with any other steel or alloy, they can then be machined, have threads tapped or welded into place.

Here, we have the manifold from the first image, being fitted to an air brake valve assembly that was later used on Fendt MT940 crawlers.

Below is the standard workflow for making parts, beginning by designing the 3D models of the components, then checking fitment by assembling them virtually in the CAD software.

The 3D printed parts are then ready and, if required, certian faces can be machined to make sure of a perfectly flat or round surface.

Finally, the finished parts are ready and can be put to use!

If you have anything you're struggling to find a replacement for or need a custom part made, feel free to give us a call or email and we'll be happy to help!
